Biography
Zhongkai Liu received his BS in Physics from Tsinghua University in 2006 and PhD in Physics from Stanford University in 2014 under the supervision of Prof. Zhi-Xun Shen. He worked as a postdoctoral research associate at Diamond Light Source, UK from 2014 to 2015. He joined the School of Physical Science and Technology at ShanghaiTech University as a tenure-track assistant professor、PI in July 2015.

Research Interests
My major research focuses on characterizing the electronic structure and understanding the emergent phenomena of advanced material with Angle Resolved Photoemission Spectroscopy (ARPES) (both synchrotron facilities-based and lab-based). Some current material systems of interest include topological quantum materials and novel iron based superconductors. Meanwhile, I am developing the next generation multi-dimensional (with Spatial, Spin and Temporal resolution) ARPES at ShanghaiTech University and Shanghai Synchrotron Radiation Facility.
