Research Interests |
My research interests mainly focus on solving problems in interdisciplinary of material, chemistry, and biology. Specifically, the structure tunable nanoporous composites were rationally designed for the applications in catalysis, biology, and energy fields. (1) Catalysis My group develops new generation of metal-organic framework (MOF) composite materials for catalysis. We adjust the pore structure and functional groups of MOF and synergistically regulate the guest precious metals to control the activity and selectivity of specific heterogeneous catalysis. The focus of the research is on molecular level tuning of microporous composite materials and improving their performance based on the catalytic results. Various characterization techniques are used to explore the interface structure of the catalysts and investigate the relationship between microscopic structure and macroscopic performance. The catalytic mechanisms can be further constructed by simulation calculations. (2) Bioscience We aim to integrate the materials science and synthetic biology to develop new engineered living materials (ELM). The interaction between biological and non-biological interfaces will be explored to develop the cutting-edge technologies such as biocatalysis, drug delivery and bio-batteries. (3) Energy MOF composite materials can be designed for the applications in fuel cells and solar cells using pore confinement and synergistic effects.
Our group provides advanced equipment, excellent research environment and cozy working atmosphere. Please feel free to send your resume to zhuoly@shanghaitech.edu.cn. |
